In Conversation with Melissa

We recently spent the day in Notting Hill with Melissa, shooting some of our favourite Molly Olivia pieces and getting a closer look at how she styles her jewellery day to day.

There’s always something about seeing our pieces worn like this that makes them feel different. The way someone naturally layers, mixes metals, or gravitates towards certain styles brings everything to life in a way that feels much more personal.

Of course, we took the chance to ask Melissa a few questions while we were shooting…

Are you more of a gold or silver person when it comes to your jewellery?

M: I’d say I usually wear mixed metals, I like how it adds a bit of contrast and makes things feel less predictable. But if I really had to choose just one, I’d probably go for silver, it just feels a bit more like me.

Where’s your go-to spot in London, especially on the weekends?

M: On weekends I always find myself in Chelsea. I love the food market there, and it’s just such a nice area to walk around, with lots of shops and really cute coffee spots to stop at along the way.

Do you have a favourite Molly Olivia piece from the shoot?

M: Definitely the Molly Olivia Tennis Necklace. It feels really luxurious, but at the same time it’s so easy to wear. I love that you can put it on with something really simple and it just elevates the whole look, but then it also works perfectly in the evening if you want something a bit more dressed up.

What’s the one piece of jewellery you always reach for?

M: It has to be earrings. I honestly feel a bit incomplete without them. Even if I’m wearing something really simple, as soon as I put on a pair of hoops I just feel more put together.

Is there a quote or mindset you always come back to?

M: Don’t take advice from someone you wouldn’t want to trade lives with. I think that’s something I always come back to.
